Veteran British rock group, Queen, teams up with "American Idol" alumnus Adam Lambert for a summer tour, according to reports.
The North American concert will commence on June 19 in Chicago and will move across the United States until the 20th of July. The concert tour's final leg will take place in Washington D.C., which the band personally announced at the Madison Square Garden on Thursday.
During the conference, Queen guitarist Brian May said, "This is a combination we believe works very well. It'll be great to do this one more time."
This is not the first time that Lambert is meeting up with Queen. In the past, he has already teamed up with the band's members Brian May and Roger Taylor. In 2009, during one of the episodes of "American Idol," Lambert already had the opportunity to perform "We Are The Champions" with Queen.
May also shared that he and drummer Taylor immediately felt comfortable with Lambert when they first met him during their rehearsals for the "American Idol" finale.
Lambert and Queen's partnership took off after they performed together at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas last September. According to a press release, the show was so good they decided to take it on the road.
Since then, they have already toured Europe together for six shows, including one in Ukraine, where they had the chance to perform in front of approximately 300,000 guests, according to News Day.
"I think Adam is a great diva," said Taylor. He clarified that he meant that as an actual compliment.
As of late, Lambert and Queen have not yet finalized their set list for their upcoming concert but they are already rehearsing the album cut "Dragon Attack" from Queen's 1980 album, "The Game."
